- Binance Hacker Hunts for Exit Ramps as DeFi Exchanges Pause Markets
Wallets linked to Binance were drained of at least $5.5 billion, and the total is still rising. The funds were moved through the decentralized exchange Uniswap and the lending app Aave, swapping stablecoins that issuers can freeze for ETH, which has no issuer able to freeze it. Stablecoin issuers have frozen more than $2 billion in USDT and USDC, and Ripple has frozen about $200 million in RLUSD, according to Binance co-CEO Yi He. Even so, about 253,000 ETH, roughly $570 million, sat in two wallets with no outgoing transfers as of 22:07 UTC. Aave froze its V3 markets on Ethereum, Kamino paused borrowing in its SOL/BTC market as a precaution, and Binance said it was investigating the security incident but had not confirmed that user funds were affected.

- XBOW Rewarded for Exploit Affecting a Billion Users
XBOW, an autonomous offensive security company, said its platform earned a $250,000 Chrome Vulnerability Reward Program award from Google for a full-chain Windows exploit, the first such reward under Google's 2026 rules and the first granted to an autonomous security platform. Working with OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol models, XBOW's AI agents and one researcher chained three previously unknown bugs over six days, at an estimated $40,000 of compute, to run code outside Chrome's sandbox. Google reproduced, confirmed and fixed the bugs, and XBOW says they were never used against users. Before the fixes, the flaw sat in the path of an estimated one billion Chrome users on Windows, and XBOW will use the award to fund work securing NGOs.
- Bitcoin and ETH Holders Could Face a Deeper Pullback, Ansem Warns
Crypto trader Ansem has turned bearish on Bitcoin and ETH, attributing the view to a blow-off top in AI stocks. He warns both assets could fall faster from current levels.
- Ethereum’s four-minute settlement plan could lower the cost of moving crypto
Ethereum researchers have proposed cutting the wait for transaction finality from about 16 minutes to roughly four minutes, though the draft is unfinished and has no activation date. Faster finality would let transfer services recover and reuse funds sooner; for a service fronting $1 million an hour, the idle money waiting on repayment would fall from about $267,000 to about $67,000. The plan would split validators’ block-selection and finality votes, allowing faster locking-in and an eventual move to quantum-resistant signatures. Many details, such as voting timings and penalties, remain unresolved, and Solana’s Alpenglow upgrade targets about 150 milliseconds.
- Bitmine's Tom Lee Warns of a Potential Sell-Off in Ethereum. Here's the Most Likely Scenario for ETH.
Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), warns that a heavy sell-off in South Korean tech stocks could trigger secondary liquidations in crypto, since many Korean tech investors also hold crypto and may sell it to offset stock losses. That could hit Ethereum (ETH), which Bitmine has been accumulating since June 2025. Lee expects only “short-term pain,” but the article argues that a collapse of the AI bubble would spread losses across global tech and crypto markets, turning it into “long-term pain.” Ethereum is already down 50% from its August 2025 highs and trades at $2,450, so a return to $5,000 would be hard if the AI trade collapses. The article adds that many cryptocurrencies now trade like tech stocks, and since much crypto trades offshore, overnight events abroad can quickly affect ETH's price.

- Bitcoin ETF outflows hit $643M, led by BlackRock and Fidelity
Bitcoin ETFs saw net outflows of $643 million on Friday, led by BlackRock at $233.7 million, followed by Fidelity at $201 million and Arc B at $129.5 million. The funds had also recorded net outflows in each of the four preceding sessions, and the week was still only down $202 million. The host notes that ETF flows tend to react to market moves because these funds don't trade 24/7 like Bitcoin, so the impact of after-hours events often shows up the next day. He contrasts this with the worst hack in history, worth $6 billion, and a sharp tech sell-off in which Intel fell 30% and Alphabet and Amazon were each down about 12% at one point overnight, while Bitcoin fell only 4–5% and gold also declined.

- AMD Slides 3% Ahead of Earnings as PC Worries Linger; Intel Drops 5%, NVIDIA Edges Higher
AMD fell 3% to $489.03 ahead of its Q3 2026 results, scheduled for November 3 after the market closes, after an 11% drop on October 30 when Intel said its PC slowdown would last at least through the first half of 2027; Intel shares plunged 29% that session. Intel guided Q4 2026 revenue to $15–16 billion, below the roughly $17 billion consensus, but its Data Center and AI revenue still rose 78% to $7.32 billion. AMD's Client segment brought in $3.06 billion in Q2 2026, while Data Center rose 107% to $6.72 billion, making up 58% of sales. NVIDIA rose 1% to $206.76. AMD guided Q3 revenue to about $13 billion ±$300 million versus the $13.09 billion consensus, and bears point to a forward earnings multiple of 45x against a five-year average of 35x.
- AWS Growth Wins Amazon Stock a $330 Upgrade
Phillip Securities upgraded Amazon to Buy from Accumulate on Monday and raised its price target from $320 to $330, arguing that AWS demand justifies the company's heavier spending. Amazon shares were up 5.22% as of 10:30 a.m. ET. Analyst Helena Wang raised her fiscal 2027 revenue estimate by 2%, net income forecast by 3% and capex estimate by 3%, while acknowledging that aggressive spending pressures free cash flow. In the third quarter, net sales rose 12% to $201.9 billion and AWS sales grew 39.3% to $46.0 billion, its fastest pace in nearly five years. Net income fell to $20.7 billion, or $1.89 per diluted share, because the year-ago quarter included $9.5 billion in pre-tax gains from the Anthropic investment.
- This Up-and-Coming Tech Company Just Delivered 44% Revenue Growth, and It Has Nothing to Do With AI.
SoFi Technologies posted record adjusted net revenue of $1.4 billion in the third quarter of 2026, up 44% year over year, and GAAP net income of $241 million. Growth came from banking, lending, investing and fintech services rather than AI chips or models. The company is building a connected financial platform: members rose 35% to 17.1 million, products held grew 44% to 26.7 million, and more than half of new products opened in the quarter came from existing members. SoFi also has eight businesses each generating over $100 million in annualized revenue, and net profit rose 73%. The article says investors should watch whether SoFi can keep growing, turn that growth into lasting profits, and whether newer businesses such as recently announced blockchain payments contribute meaningfully.
- The EPS 'Miss That Wasn't Gave You and Me an Opportunity to Scoop Up Alphabet Cheaply
Alphabet reported GAAP EPS of $2.12 against a consensus of $2.97, ending a 12-quarter streak of beats, and shares fell 12.64% on earnings day, from $324.89 to $283.82. The author attributes the miss to a one-time $8.70 billion loss on equity securities, which cut net income by $6.70 billion and diluted EPS by $0.55, and argues that this mark-to-market swing sits outside the ad and cloud businesses. The author points to revenue of $127.58 billion (up 24.6%), operating income up 29.93%, and Google Cloud revenue up 103% to $30.71 billion as evidence of strong core operations. The author also flags risks, including capex of $51.36 billion (up 114.4%), negative free cash flow of -$9.07 billion, and dilution from share sales under an at-the-market program. The stock stood at $279.84, down 18.67% over the past month.
