News about inequality

Organizers have planned more than 600 demonstrations across France over high prices, social inequality, and a deteriorating education system. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez expects nearly 200,000 people nationwide, including about 40,000 in Paris according to a police source. Police have banned rallies near the Elysee Palace, the prime minister's office, and the Champs-Elysees, and have forbidden a march through central Paris. The protests follow weeks of school demonstrations marked by violence, with more than 900 police officers injured and at least two dozen cases of alleged police violence under investigation. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu warned that violence could break out, describing a national mood of deep exhaustion, while far-right National Rally leader Jordan Bardella predicted 'a day of chaos for France'.
