Red Hat announced expanded updates to its collaboration with NVIDIA to strengthen security and safety for agentic AI on Red Hat AI Factory with NVIDIA. Key additions include the OpenShell Reference Architecture, built on an open source agent sandbox runtime that provides standardized guardrails, operational visibility and runtime safety. For model inference, the companies developed a reference design with Model-as-a-Service access control, AI Gateway, vLLM and llm-d that separates access governance from execution, and the stack fully supports NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Super VL. Red Hat is also providing Day 0 enablement for NVIDIA Vera Rubin and added support for Vera CPUs in Red Hat Enterprise Linux for NVIDIA, with the solutions available through partners including Cisco, Dell Technologies and Lenovo.
