Starburst announced limited general availability of Starburst Torin, a GPU-native, Trino-based analytics engine built on NVIDIA cuDF that runs SQL natively on NVIDIA GPUs alongside its CPU engine, with up to 7x faster queries and no changes to existing SQL, applications or data. The company positions it for AI agents, which can trigger chains of dependent queries where delays slow entire workflows. In Starburst benchmarks, Torin ran TPC-H queries up to 7x faster on NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, with the fastest query 11.4x faster, and an NVIDIA L4 GPU instance delivered 3.4x the ClickBench throughput of the CPU baseline at similar hourly hardware cost. Starburst is also working to integrate NVIDIA Nemotron Retriever and Kumo models into Starburst AIDA for financial services use cases such as fraud detection, credit risk monitoring and KYC onboarding.
