Morgan Stanley believes the AI trade will broaden from chipmakers and infrastructure to software firms and businesses that use AI to cut costs. Datadog (DDOG) reported second-quarter revenue up 36% to $1.1 billion and non-GAAP earnings up 41% to $0.65 per diluted share, and raised its full-year revenue growth guidance to 30%. However, with the stock at 104 times adjusted earnings, the author considers its valuation rich and Datadog a risky investment.

- Proposal to allow hospitals to use patents as loan collateral
Deputy Nguyễn Lân Hiếu, director of Bệnh viện Đại học Y Hà Nội, proposed allowing hospitals to use patents and trademarks as capital contributions or loan collateral to strengthen their autonomy. Speaking during the National Assembly's debate on the amended Law on Intellectual Property on November 3, he proposed that changes such as new salt forms, formulations or dosages of known substances not be considered inventive unless they significantly improve treatment efficacy. He also proposed that domestic firms be allowed to file generic drug registrations while the original patent is still valid, as otherwise they could wait 2-3 years after the patent expires before selling. On AI and copyright, he proposed that AI cannot be an author, that doctors and lecturers be authors while hospitals and universities own the rights when state budgets are used, with at least 40-50% of profits shared with authors. Deputy Nguyễn Trung Kiên of Đồng Nai agreed and urged digital platforms to handle copyright infringement notices and promptly remove or block infringing content, noting that blocked sites often reappear under new domains.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) pledged to Vietnam reached 54.85 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2026, up 74% year on year and the highest for the same period since 2009. Vietnam granted new licences to nearly 3,500 projects worth over 30.7 billion USD, more than double the same period last year, while existing projects added over 16.1 billion USD and capital contributions and share purchases reached nearly 8 billion USD. Manufacturing drew over 24.1 billion USD and real estate over 7 billion USD, with transport and warehousing also attracting large inflows. Singapore led in new registered capital with over 9.5 billion USD, followed by South Korea with 5.81 billion USD and Luxembourg with nearly 5 billion USD. - BlackRock’s IBIT sees biggest Bitcoin ETF outflows since June
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded 405.3 million USD in net outflows on Monday, its largest daily outflow since June 26, as US spot Bitcoin ETFs opened November with 398.6 million USD in net withdrawals, according to Farside Investors. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) attracted 6.7 million USD, partly offsetting the outflows. The funds had recorded 515 million USD in net outflows in October and about 38 million USD so far in 2026. Bitcoin briefly fell below 76,400 USD, its lowest since August, amid broader volatility following the 6.3 billion USD Binance hack. US spot Ether ETFs also saw about 140 million USD in net outflows, extending their losing streak to six trading days after a record 1.61 billion USD in monthly outflows in October. Brickken CEO Edwin Mata said the outflows should not be read as a rejection of digital assets, as investors reduce exposure when uncertainty rises.
- Vietnam's import-export turnover tops US$1,000 billion for first time, a record high
In the first 10 months of 2026, Vietnam's total goods import-export turnover was a preliminary US$1,010.55 billion, up 32.3% year on year, surpassing US$1,000 billion for the first time and reaching a record high. Exports rose 27.5% and imports 37.4%, leaving a goods trade deficit of US$12.07 billion; in October alone, the country posted a US$7.31 billion trade surplus, its second consecutive monthly surplus this year. The United States was the largest export market at US$159.40 billion, while China was the largest import source at US$212.46 billion. Nguyen Anh Son, Director of the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, attributed the result to a recovery in domestic production, the FDI sector and free trade agreements, and called for better growth quality.
- Nvidia tells data center partners to limit China sales- FT
According to the Financial Times, citing five people familiar with the matter, Nvidia has told its data center partners to reduce their exposure to Chinese customers. Cloud computing clients must now sell at least 51% of their services to non-Chinese companies, a restriction that did not exist before. The instructions were conveyed verbally through Nvidia's sales force and regional teams rather than in writing. The move complicates AI development for Chinese firms that have leased overseas computing capacity, including for model training, as Washington tightens Chinese access to advanced chips through cloud deals. The report also notes that Nvidia chips have been smuggled into China despite U.S. restrictions since at least 2022, and several senior Super Micro employees were charged earlier this year with smuggling about $2.5 billion worth of Nvidia AI servers to China.
