Zcash (ZEC) rose about 12% over 24 hours to around $1,270 on Wednesday after developers agreed on block 3,543,405 as the NU7 mainnet activation height, expected around Nov. 5. The proposal, posted on GitHub by Sean Bowe, was approved by two developers, though the specifications still needed to be finalized. NU7 aims to cut the target block time by two-thirds, from 75 to 25 seconds, so transactions confirm faster, and it has been tested since early October. The Zcash Foundation's readiness tracker shows six of 12 tasks completed, with Zebra node synchronization issues still open, and developers have not confirmed whether these could affect the date.
