According to FiinGroup, in September 2026, 24 of 37 open-ended equity funds increased their cash holdings, up from 16 in August. Large funds such as DCDS (NAV about VND 5,837 billion) raised cash from 9.1% to 15.5%, VLGF from 10% to 11.9% (its third straight month), and EVESG from 3.2% to 5%. In contrast, VFMVSF cut its cash share from 11.5% to 10%. The shift comes as equity funds fell an average 6% in Q3 and 7.2% over nine months, while funds saw VND 8,600 billion in net outflows in Q3 and nearly VND 31,700 billion year-to-date.
