  • Highland tycoon's stock keeps hitting the ceiling with no sellers left

Quoc Cuong Gia Lai (QCG) has pushed its market capitalization above 3,000 billion VND after two consecutive ceiling-price sessions; on Oct. 15 the stock hit the 11,000 VND limit, its highest in over a month, with no sellers and ceiling buy orders in the hundreds of thousands. The rally followed Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan's return as CEO, replacing Nguyen Quoc Cuong, after an appellate verdict deemed her sentence already served. In the first half of 2026, revenue fell to about 80 billion VND, roughly a third of the prior-year level, but after-tax profit of over 181 billion VND (18 times higher) came mainly from liquidating and selling a hydropower plant. Revenue remains far below the 2,403 billion VND full-year plan, and Cuong acknowledged that results have not met shareholder expectations, while management called 2026–2028 a pivotal restructuring period.

  • 66-Year-Old Woman Gains 65 Billion Dong in a Single Day

Nguyễn Thị Như Loan has returned as CEO of Quốc Cường Gia Lai after more than two years, replacing Nguyễn Quốc Cường under a board resolution dated Oct. 12, and QCG shares rose the daily limit of 6.63% to 10,300 dong on Oct. 14. Loan holds over 101.9 million shares (37.05% of charter capital), so her stake gained about 65 billion dong in one session. Unlike July 2024, when QCG fell nine straight sessions after news involving Loan, the market has reacted positively this time. However, net revenue for the first half of 2026 was only about 81 billion dong, down roughly 67% year on year, while profit of nearly 179 billion dong came mainly from hydropower plant sales. A key focus is resolving issues at the Phước Kiển project, which holds most of the company’s long-term work in progress of over 5,400 billion dong.

  • Mother returns as CEO, Cuong 'Do La' makes a notable move

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan has just completed her sentence in the case over the illegal transfer of a 6,000 m² land plot at 39-39B Ben Van Don, and Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (QCG) has introduced her as its General Director. A new resolution shifts the legal representative role from Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong to Ms. Loan. On Facebook, Mr. Cuong posted a farewell message after two years leading the company, acknowledging that results fell short of shareholder expectations. In Q2, QCG's net revenue fell more than 90% to just over VND 11 billion, yet net profit reached over VND 165 billion thanks to other income of nearly VND 920 billion, over VND 900 billion of it from transferring hydropower plants. As of June 30, liabilities fell from VND 3,999 billion to over VND 3,010 billion, but the payable to Sunny Island still stood at nearly VND 1,583 billion for the Bac Phuoc Kien project.
