- Good News for Vietcombank Customers
Vietcombank customers can use the VCB Digibank app to scan QR codes and pay at merchants in more than 50 countries and territories, including China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. Payments are deducted directly from their VND account, so there is no need to exchange currency before traveling, and the exchange rate is shown before confirmation. The bank currently does not charge fees for this service, though its fee policy remains subject to regulations in each period. The service runs through a partnership with Alipay+, operated by Ant International, which has over 1 billion users and more than 150 million acceptance points. According to the General Statistics Office, Vietnam recorded about 6.7 million outbound trips in 2025, up 26.4%, and QR payment helps travelers avoid calculating currency exchanges or carrying large amounts of cash.
