  • SHB cuts lending rates by up to 2% a year, launches new credit package with rates from just 5% a year

Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) has launched a new preferential credit package with lending rates cut by 1.5–2% a year, starting from just 5% a year, for household businesses and enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The program aims to ease cash-flow costs so customers can fund raw materials, salaries and ongoing operations. With the package launched on Oct. 19, SHB's preferential lending reaches 47,000 billion dong, following 45,000 billion dong allocated since early 2026 and 2,000 billion dong added in mid-August 2026. The bank prioritizes agriculture, exports, supporting industries, high technology, the digital economy, AI and semiconductors, and offers a separate package from 5.5% a year for lecturers and students at some universities.
